As we didn’t manage to go away this Summer, we decided as the nights drew in and the temperature dropped, it would be a great idea to get some Winter Sun. We didn’t want to venture too far so chose the Canaries and booked a week in Costa Adeje, Tenerife. We stayed at the Bahia Princess Hotel which was lovely and just what the doctor ordered.
Last year Isabella wasn’t very confident in the water at all and clung to us most of the time whilst in the pool but after a year of taking her to a parent and toddler swimming class, her confidence had really grown. She was throwing herself in without batting an eyelid and thought it was brilliant fun and basically wanted to stay in it all day! We bought her her first inflatable pool toy and out of all the cute ones she could have chosen, she chose a shark, which she promptly called ‘Mr Shark’!! After several days of swimming with her armbands, she even managed to start swimming on her own without them, albeit very briefly and us firmly by her side. We were very proud parents!
They had a kids club which after several days of trying to get her to join, she finally decided to go to once she made friends with another little boy who was also going. It was great, she had fun and we actually managed to relax by the pool and read a book for a couple of hours! In the evenings they also had the Mini Disco which was another firm favourite!
All in all we had a lovely relaxed week and can’t wait to go away again next year. Here are my favourite photos of our week, as you can tell we mainly spent it round the swimming pool.
